How can I encrypt a single file I've created in Pages? I've acquired so many passwords on various websites I needed to write them down but don't want them easily accessible.

TIA

the best place to hide something is in the open... why not just leave your passwords readable BUT shift every keypress over some then you can reproduce the passwords when you need to even if someone is shoulder surfing.

I take it you have created a pages file with all your passwords in

Personally I keep my bank and other passwords as entries in the keychain, they are not accessible to other programs but I can open keychain and remind myself of the passwords and they remain hidden and encrypted

The only other way is to create a small encrypted disk image using Disk Utility and store the file within the disk image

You can store secure notes in Keychain if that's enough for you.

You can encrypt files/folders through the Disk Utility. Here's how:

- Place your file in a folder.
- Then open Disk Utility.
- On the menu bar, to go File>New>Disc Image from Folder
- Choose the folder you wish to encrypt and press "Image"
- Choose where to save the image and what to name it.
- Next, select your encryption type. 128-bit usually is sufficient
- Type in your password, then create your image.
- A new image file (dmg) will be created and you can delete the original folder.
