so ive installed windows xp on my brand new Imac and it runs fine however certain processes like running a game or playing a dvd (this does it every time after a while) Cause the mac to freeze and start making a noise like a drill. The freezing may be due to an inadequate graphics driver. Try updating the video drivers from the manufacturer's web site. IOW, if your graphics card is by ATI, go to their web site and download\install the latest drivers they have for XP that will work with that particular chipset.

As for the noise, it may be the DVD drive?

Regards.
