Will a Windows .jar file run on iMac?

Subject sort of says it all. I have .jar file that works fine on WinXP Pro. Can I move it to my iMac and have it run on OSX? I don't know much about Java and I've only had the iMac a few months. Searching didn't turn much up that I could find (and understand). TIA.

Since Java works on essentially any platform, it should theoretically work. Just try it out, worst case scenario it won't work.
