Huge CPU usage watching movies...

This has happened with two movies that I have procured. I have MenuMeters, and just having VLC open, the CPU usage jumps up to 70%+ and makes the movie either freeze, or skip, or lose the audio. I don't know why this is happening with certain .AVI files...

I'm on a MacBook with 2gig ram 2.4 GHz intel core 2...

13" MBP, 2.53 Ghz, 4 Gb Ram, 500 Gb HDD
That shouldnt happen.. Try resetting your PRAM. If that doesnt work, open Activity monitor to see whats taking the space.
