Change USB1 to USB2?

Having recently acquired an iMac G4, a few years old, I'm starting to get to grips with it...however, I'm having a spot of trouble connecting up some of my devices to it, ie camera and Sony C902 phone.

I keep getting messages stating that it would be better using a USB2 connection instead of USB1. Or, the device wont show up at all, or if it does, it takes AGES to transfer pictures across.

Can I change the USB1 ports for USB2 like I did on my old PC for around £15?

If so, anyone recommend a reasonable one and where to source it from please?

Cheers

USB 2.0 is a newer bus type, so you would need a completely new adapter to add on USB 2.0. On a PC with internal expansion slots, this is possible - but since the iMac is an all-in-one and doesn't have these expansion slots, it's not possible.

Oh. That's a shame.

Any way of speeding up the transfer of images from camera & camera phone then?

Well, aside from upgrading to a modern machine, no. You're stuck at USB 1.1 transfer rates (12Mb/s compared with 480Mb/s with 2.0).
