• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

DVDRemaster?

All is well in the land of backing up my DVD's. I use DVD Backup, then DVD2onex, when that's all done I toast it and burn as a DVD-ROM (UDF).. Now playback is great the quality is good and the whole nine yards, but one thing! It seems that whatever DVD I burn Pauses momentarily along with the audio where the files are joined. this isn't so bad cause I don't miss anything it picks up immediately and continues.
Now I found Mac the ripper and this seems to rip the files fine, but what about DVDRemaster?? Has anyone any experience with this app? More importantly will it fix the pausing or is that a problem with another app?? I'm seeking an almost perfect DVD back up and I almost got it! Any one with any experience, your knowledge would be greatly appreciated!!!

DVDRemaster works great. I've never experienced any problem with my DVD backups like you describe. Using v1.4.1. I drop all but the AC3 Dolby Dig. audio tracks, and it looks/sounds great. I leave it alone while it remasters, disabling the screen saver with the upper right "hot corner".
