How to get "{" and "}" ?

Hi there.
I don't know if im posting this in the right place, so feel free to move it to the right forum

I recently switched from Vista to Mac, and I can't seem to figure out how to get the signs "{" and "}" on Mac. I've tried to google it, but couldn't find anything.

Same place you get them on a Windows keyboard....the EXACT same place.

Depends on your keyboard layout...

For german keyboards it's option (alt) + 8 or 9.
The easiest way to find out is to enable to go to 'System Prefs > International > Keyboard layout' and check 'keyboard viewer'.

You should see a flag symbol up in the menu bar. Click it and select 'Keyboard viewer'. Now hold down the various modifier keys (shift, option, shift+option) and see which special character is where.

You mean like this: { }? What kind of keyboard are you using and which Mac do you have?

The braces are available on both the external aluminum keyboard and keyboard supplied with the MacBook and other machines. (To the right of the "P" key using upper case.)

I found it on Shift+Alt+8 and 9

Is it possible to change it to Alt+8 and 9 instead of Shift+Alt ?
