scheduled shutdown makes brightness go bananas

So,
i schedule my macbook to shutdown, and when i turn it on again, the brightness is at its maximum level (which is way too much for me).
when i schedule it to sleep, it's all good.

yeah, i guess...
i'm asking how to keep it at my preferred setting, which is what happens if i manually shut it down. :)
