would I completely get rid of VMware Fusion and the partition it has and go to a bootcamp setup?

I don't why you would want to do that.... but it's easy enough to accomplish. Just uninstall VMware Fusion including removing the VM and then run the Boot Camp assistant. Create a partition for Windows and install Windows. Follow the Boot Camp guidelines as given here:

Note: You will have to go through the Windows activation process again.

i had a windows computer that I still needed for a new programs, and i used it for syncing my ipod. because im having problems with syncing my ipod with my mac and I havent found a solution to that problem yet.
