• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hi,

1st post so hello hello...

Anyhoo... I'm wanting to copy my DVD collection to my external HD to then stream to the PS3 so it needs to be encoded in MP4 or H264.

I used Mactheripper to copy the DVD and was advised to use Hanbreak to convert the file but handbreak is taking over a day (24 hours +) to convert the file so I know I will tire of doing the entire back catalog of DVD's. Can anyone offer some advice or tips in speeding things up.

Cheers,

Will

Folks, there is a sticky at the top of this forum, I suggest you all read it. For your convenience, I have included a link below:

Mac-Forums.com - Announcements in Forum : Movies and Video

Just to break it down for you - we do not allow discussion of DVD ripping here, PERIOD. This includes discs you already own.
