Help me with my essay on Protestantism?

I'm writing a research essay, and, without explaining the whole lot of it, I need some help determining the degree of factual accuracy of the wikipedia article on Protestantism (here).

Are there any experts (in the having-studied-at-university-level-or-higher sense) that can help me here, since I don't have the knowledge necessary to make a fully informed judgement?

Please avoid making any comments that are inflammatory in the slightest, this is not a religious debate thread, and at the first sign of it I'll be deleting this topic and erasing your memories.

I wouldn't put to much trust or faith in wiki articles. I dunno, just my two cents worth.

I'm enrolled in an online college and we are not allowed to use wikipedia when researching for assignments.

Oh sorry I should have mentioned that, I'm not using it for references, part of my topic deals with how accurate that article is - I'm writing about wikipedia, not using it for my information.

Looks pretty good from what I can tell.

I am enrolled in University (history major, so I know about the subject), and the general rule we go by, is wiki is great for getting a general overview of the event, in your case protestantism, however it is not a reliable source to reference. What I do is if I don't understand something, I read up the wiki page on it, and then either use the references on the bottom of the page, or do some research of my own. You have to remember that anybody can change information on wiki, and it can be changed into anything you want.

It doesn't matter so much now, I've finished the essay. But I'm still interested, out of curiosity, if anybody has information that sheds light on the accuracy or inaccuracy of the article.

A good way to compare wiki articles is to compare two language versions: I'll usually read both the english and german articles - it's surprising what one or the other will sometimes leave out!

The protestant article seems fairly brief towards the end.
