I am tempted to say "just more bloated junk from Microsoft", but I won't! :D

Way... way too many specs to list.
I'd like a new mac version of IE though. Bringing up a virtual machine to test web content sucks :D

Ive been testing IE8 Beta 2 on my Vista gaming box since its release last week and I must say, Im actually quite impressed. Granted the majority of the new features can be got in Firefox with various add-ons etc, but I like the improvements they've made and its certainly faster and more stable than previous releases. Also its capable of using either the older IE7 engine or the new IE8 'Standards Compliant' engine, which is helpful. Overall its a nice improvement and I look forward to see what they do with it.

Buuut Safari on OSX is still by far the fastest of all the browsers IMHO.

Does it feels like IE7?
Because IE7 is very slow and heavy.

On my Windows computer I will stick to FF and IE6 when necessary.

If I ever need to use IE, I definitely prefer IE6. I refuse to install IE7 when doing windows update at work.

It just feels like a poor mans firefox.

Same here - which is kinda sad if you think about it.

Actually, I was pleasantly surprised by IE7. My only gripe with it is that Microsoft didn't start development on it until their hand was forced by Firefox. Even still, it doesn't hold a candle to FF in terms of features or speed.

I'll be curious to see what IE8 looks like. Unless it's a top-down rewrite, I can't see what else they'll do with it.

It is a good step forward by Microsoft IMO

At least now they are recognising the importance of standards as well as realising they need to compete now with Firefox for features that users need
