Hi, I'm a new Mac user, and I'm trying to get dual boot, but when I try to use boot camp, it's saying that I need to update my firmware before continue, but Software Update says that I'm up to date. I'm having that problem since I reinstall my OS X which is Leopard 10.5.4. I divine my hard drive in three peaces, because I was thinking of putting OS X in one of the partitions, Windows in the second and one for my multimedia stuff. Any way, can some one tell me what to do?

I'm using Macbook 13.3" 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo, 250HDD and 4GB of ram.

Thank you in advance.

Regards, Bobby!

I'm not sure why you're receiving a notice to update your firmware. What did you use to divide your HD into three partitions? Disk Utility?

The proper procedure for installing Windows is to use the Boot Camp assistant to create a single partition for Windows XP or Vista - whichever you intend to install. Then following the Boot Camp instructions, Windows can be installed to the partition you created. If you used Disk Utility to divide your hard drive into three partitions you may not be able to install Windows.

Post back and let us know exactly what you've done so we can advise you on how best to proceed.

Regards.

Yep, I used Disk Utility. I know how to install the windows using the Boot Camp, but I can't get to the screen where I'm suppose to divine the hdd and make a partition for windows, under Boot Camp. Actually I don't think that my firmware version is up to date.

Boot ROM Version: MB41.00C1.B00
SMC Version: 1.31f0

Any ideas?

P.S. Like I said I got it working the first time, but after reinstalling the OS I'm having that problem.
