I have Mac OS10.5.2 and when I send compressed files to a PC user, sometimes he/she can't figure out how to open them. Don't know what to tell them because I'm a longtime Mac user and therefore very spoiled since Macs just open the durn things. Anyone know how a PC user opens a zipped file?

Just tell them to go to winzip.com, download winzip, keep it on their desktop and use it to open the files. They may have to save the file somewhere then open winzip, the browse to locate it. But it's pretty simple.

Windows XP and Vista has already got built in zip/unzip feature called Zip Folders. The users must have pretty old versions of windows if they cannot open them. Winzip is a good product but its not free, 7zip is free btw.
