Hi,

My girlfriend recently bought a Motorolla E550 which has blootooth built in. I want to try and connect it to my iBook, the iBook recognises the phone but when i try and connect it asks for a bluetooth key. I have no idea what this is???

Can anyone help please?

Regards,

Chris. :mac:

What asks for a bluetooth key? The iBook or the mobile phone? I have a Sony Ericsson T610 with bluetooth, when you setup a new device the computer will give you a key that you need to type into the phone in order to have access.

Sounds like you need to be connecting to it from the Mac, not the other way round.

Insert 1234 in both devices when prompted.

So people can't hijack your mobile phone or dump files on your computer when they are in proximity.

It basically asks you for ANY key on both devices, not specifically 1234.
It's like a recognising code.

You could also just type '0' on both devices, or 999 or whatever - just the same series of numbers on both devices.
