I connect to my router using:

Using DHCP

but tonight when I tried to access the internet I didn't have a connection. I've looked at my settings and the IP address is 169.25.46.69 which is no where near what it should be, it should be something like 192.168.1..

I've tried manually adding but this isn't working either.

Is there any way I can sort this out?

that means that your IP was self selected. You didn't get the DHCP issued address. Try restarting your router and your mac. If that doesn't work post up, I eventually had to ditch my preferences to resolve that once. But I booted off the recovery cd and tested the network there first.

Sorry mate, been messing about with this for ages and I just checked the cable wasn't pushed fully in my router, just plugged it in firmly and its working.

Sorry.
