Hi All,

Ive had my Mac Book Pro for a while now, I got it back in January and have absolutely loved it.

I have recently been converting my music library into iTunes and realized that iTunes saves it all under the user directory I.E. /Users/lorenhills/music/iTunes/iTunes Music. I'm trying to find a way to move this to my removable USB drive as i have a large collection 80GB and gowning and only got a 120GB disk in my mac book pro.

My external shows up as /Volumes/MYBOOK500G 1 via the CLI.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Loren

When in iTunes,

iTunes > Preferences

Click Advanced. You should see "iTunes Music Folder Location". Set that to the place where you want to store your music.

Once that is set, go to

Advanced > Consolidate Library

That should move all your music into the new iTunes folder (if it hasn't done it already).

Lastly, if your old iTunes music folder still has everything in it, you can empty it out.

Hope that helps!
