Hey everyone,

So I just bought a Macbook online from Apple's site and I'm waiting for it to be delivered. Are there any tips or things I need to know when I do get it?

For example, getting a case, calibrating the battery, setting up, etc...?

All is appreciated. Thanks! :D

Here's my new Macbook:

MACBOOK 13.3/2.4/WHT
2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x2GB
250GB Serial ATA Drive@5400rpm
SD 8x(DVD+R DL/DVD+RW/CD-RW)

Well, a case is maybe a good idea - there's a huge thread about cases here somewhere.

Calibrating the battery.

Setting it up... should work out the box! You might want Adium or MSN, things like that, but the basics are all good, just set up your user account and you're good to go.

You shouldn't have bought this from Apple as they charge WAY too much. You can buy a memory upgrade yourself for about or less than half of what Apple charges and do it yourself.

Regardless, congratulations on your purchase, you'll love it!! :)

My advice, don't be scared to play around with all the different features in Leopard. Thats the best way to learn the new OSX. And of course, if you have questions/problems there are plenty of members here that are willing to help out.

As I have, I think you'll find wonderful things about the Mac that will thrill you but maybe some things that are not so good and not the fault of the computer or Apple.

I'm enjoying mine, but it's still against the grain to be on a Mac in certain instances.

I'm very happy with my decision to go with Mac.

Kind Regards, Ken

The only issue I have had with my new macbook and imac is in excel on a membership database for an organization. Otherwise, my 2 macs perform exactly as needed.

The hardest thing for me was figuring out how to plug the 2 cords together!

Same here, it took me a while to figure out how to connect the cords, lol.
