Mac cube;
hi; i have a question
im new to this whole mac thing

well i won this mac cube
and i dont have an airport express
but i just bought this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1188560188149
i was told i can use any wireless adapter on it.
ive always had vista and XP; so the whole mac thing is already confusing.
can anyone help?

Well, the link you have there isn't working, but all you really need to do is go to Applications -> System Preferences -> Network and set your configuration up as it needs to be. However you'll probably find that the default settings will let you just plug in an ethernet cable. For wireless, you will have to do the normal settings (network SSID, security password if there is one, etc), but should be all in that panel for you.

That link is broken.

Assuming you have set up your router (which I assume was what you linked to), to set up a network you need to go System Preferences --> Network
If it's a wireless network you're setting up, from there select "Airport" and follow the on screen instructions.

If you haven't yet set that up, there should be instructions with it.

it showed internal modem
built in Ethernet
built in firewall
VPN

Well, none of those are for wireless, and lookinga t the link you posted, that adapter doesn't look like it supports Macs. At least not according to the spec sheet on the website. Did the box say it supported OS X/Macs?

yeah it works with anything.

Well, my fear is that he meant anything Windows-based. Given that, I'd take it back and tell them it's not working, and tell them you were told it was supported even when it looks like it's not.
