I have a MBP which has broadband by connecting to a network through an ethernet cable. I thought that it would be easy for me to use the "create a network" option on the MBP, and then get my iPhone to access it, and use it instead of my carrier.

Not so. While it does connect to the wifi network, when I open safari, the wifi logo on the iPhone disappears and it goes back to "3G".

Any advice? Perhaps I'm forgetting something, or it's just not possible? Thanks.
