SOLVED: replacement for home key in Terminal?

I have a new MacBook Pro, and its keyboard doesn't have Home or End keys. I've learned that ⌘+← and similar do the same thing, which is great, but the one application they don't seem to work in is Terminal, which is extremely annoying as I use bash a fair amount.

What can I press to go to the start/end of a line in Terminal?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Way... way too many specs to list.
ctrl -a will go back to the start of a line at a prompt and ctrl - e will go to the end, that will be pretty standard across shells and systems so you're covered almost everywhere :) (like vi ;) ). Anything else would be application specific (like nano, vi, etc etc etc)

edited for making a coherent thought.

Try the Function Button + the directional pad. Yep, seems to be working.
