Hi Folks,

I installed Windows Parallels on my mac and ive managed to get a virus on it :( ive tried everything to get rid of it, i even uninstalled parallels twice, but everytime i re-install parallels it has stored all my old files apps ect.

Can someone please tell me how i can completely remove it so that when i do re-install it again that its completely new e.g no virus!

Thanks

Shane

The virus hasn't lodged itself within the Parallels files, it's embedded in the VM. When Parallels is uninstalled it leaves the VM in place, therefore, reinstalling is not going to help.

Parallels VMs should be stored in a folder which resides in either the documents folder or in Application Support. The Parallels public forums may be the best place to find out. Right now they're down but you can try later.

In your documents folder, there is a folder named Parallels (i think). Delete that folder as each windows 'profile' is kept there. It is very possible the virus is lodged in there.
