I am new to ipods and wonder if someone can help. I want to help my daughter load some of the DVD movies we own to her 80g ipod to watch on the bus as she travels north frequently. We tried dragging and dropping , not working, we decided to ask instead. Thanks in advance.

you aren't going to get much help here because it's against forum policy to talk about ripping from copy protected DVD's (because it's against the law)...

Are you talking about home movies that are on DVD and not copy protected? If so, check out handbrake.

There was also a much simpler-to-use variant of Handbrake called DVD2Pod at one point. Good for beginning users. DVD2Pod is only for Mac, though, while Handbrake works on both.
