newbie here.. disk utility gone?

i must of deleted it some how... its not in Utilities anymore... i type 'disk utility' in the finder serach, and its not there.... Is there somewhere i can download it ? Is there a way to get it off the restore cd?

If Disk Utility is not in the Utilities Folder, have a look at the Application Folder and see if it is there, and also in Utilities there in Applications.

If still no joy you can download a program Pacifist which will let you install individual components from the install DVD.

Did you check your Trash?

yeah its not in the trash
and i goto applications - Utilities in the finder... its not in there...

Try using spotlight to search

is spotlight the search in the upper right hand corder of finder? or is it another program i need to execute?

Yes, Spotlight is the little magnifying glass in the upper right.

As harry suggested, try Pacifict and pull it off the original install disks.
