Boot Camp deleted... problems

I tried out bootcamp and decided i didnt like it so i deleted the particion. but now when i start up my macbook theres a black screen with an error message. do i always ahve to hold down the option key?

How did you remove the Boot Camp partition?

The correct way is to boot to OS X, run the Boot Camp Assistant, and select "restore". Did you do that?
