I am trying to set-up Boot Camp. After inserting the Wins XP the set-up goes through its initial process. Once the process reaches the part where I must hit ENTER to continue with installation, I can't. Looks like as if the keyboard drivers were not loaded. Can anyone help?.

Step 3: Install the Boot Camp Drivers for Windows
After installing Windows, install Mac-specific drivers and other software for
Windows using your Mac OS X Leopard installation disc.
To install the Boot Camp drivers:
1. Eject the Windows installation disc.
a. Go to My Computer.
b. Select the optical drive (D)
Click “Eject this disk” in the System Tasks list.
2. Insert the Mac OS X disc.
The installer should start automatically. If you have AutoRun turned off, double-click
the setup.exe file to start installing the drivers.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions.
If a message appears that says the software you are installing has not passed Windows
Logo testing, click Continue Anyway.
Windows that appear only briefly during the installation don’t require your input.
If nothing appears to be happening, there may be a hidden window that you must
respond to. Check the taskbar and look behind open windows.
4. After your computer restarts, follow the instructions in the Found New Hardware Wizard to update your software drivers (Windows XP only).

demfis,

As you probably know, during a normal Windows XP install on a PC, there are 2 or 3 times when Windows Install stops and opens a screen that says something like, "Hit Enter to boot from CD." At that time, you shouldn't do anything. If you hit Enter, the CD will begin the install routine all over again.

I noticed this when I installed XP on my Macbook. There was a pause of maybe 30 seconds before the install routine picked up again and the install continued. I held my breath when this happened, but it was eventually successful.

Give that a try - don't hit Enter when you get to that point (twice, I think). Just wait it out and see what happens.

Hi Noel,

I let the computer at that stage for a good 20 min without any progress. Also, I just can't hit ENTER anywhere during the installation hence the problem....

demfis,

Have you tried using a USB mouse? That could work!
