Select Carrier?

Today i noticed that my calls were pretty choppy and my text messages were really delayed. After awhile, i went to the setting menu and right under Wi-Fi there was a menu with a small phone icon and it said "Carrier" and next to it was AT&T. When i pressed it, it said searching with a progress circle and then said Error.

I then restarted the phone and that carrier menu was gone. I have not hacked or did anything to my phone, so whats up with this mysterious menu?

I got that option when I took my phone to Taiwan and China. When clicked on, it gave me options of two or three telecoms in the area. I'm guessing it glitched on you because it should only show up when there is no AT&T signal around.

Oh, Interesting. I was still in Brooklyn, only about a block from where i usually use my phone.
