I really need some help here.

I finally decide to switch to Mac from PC after countless thoughts.

I am thinking about the refurbished Imac

24-inch widescreen display
1GB memory
250GB hard drive
8x SuperDrive (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GeForce 7300GT with 128MB GDDR3 memory

Apple is charging 1199 for this model.

do you think it is a good buy? I am just using it to watch movie, browse internet, video conferencing, and editing some pictures(not very often)? Can this model handle Leopard just fine?

I don't want to buy something that will be outdated but the same time I don't want to spend too much on my first mac?

If you know a good source to buy a mac outside Apple.com, please let me know as well.

Thanks so much for your help. I am really excited to be in the Mac family. :)

For what you're going to use it for, that machine is perfect. It will handle Leopard just fine as well.

I would suggest an upgrade to 2 GBs of RAM, which you can do yourself afterwards (it would be far cheaper than getting it from Apple).
