Yes it can!

There is no official way (the one feature that I wish they would borrow from other browsers *IE7 cough*). You can do it though. One method involves quite a bit of terminal work using the vi editor. The instructions can be found here.

A third-party addon to Safari allows you to change the default search to a prexisting list that it already has. In addition, Inquisitor can predict your search based on past searches and I believe give alternate search site results. Said software can be found here.

The second option is much easier, but the first option should give you the cleaner result. Good luck!

I use inquisitor, too. Its nice but does anyone know of a way to change the 'Search Google' in the context menu to search yahoo? I tend to use that more than the search box.

Unfortunately, I believe that option is only on the Windows version of Safari. Also, I am not using Safari 3, still on 2.0.4 here.

And I'm pretty sure Inquisitor is Mac only.

Inquisitor now works in Firefox too; using OSX or Windows.

Amazing, when did they do that? Cool on Firefox but I could care less on IE since I never use it except to download Firefox! :D

Thanks for the info! Getting the Firefox version now!

Yahoo acquired Inquisitor back in May. Then I think around the end of September/early October the Firefox add was released.
