i am trying to set up filesharing for users who do not have a clue about networking. i need a transparent way to offer files so the users can work directly on shared volumes (ie no download, use, upload again)
does anyone know of a method to have:
secure file shares (and secure login)
available over the internet
can be accessed from mac/win/lin machines
works with the os' filebrowser? (so 3rd party software can see the share just as the os can?)
i'm aware finder is read-only for ftp, ssh isn't supported by windows natively.. on the server side i can do anything that is required, be it a mac or windows server, different filesystems.. but some users will be using machines they have no control over, like internet cafe's, so it has to be little to no fiddling client side.
i'd appreciate any help,
thanks in advance
