Want to purcase iMac..

I want to purchase an IMAC for around $1300 that is 24"... the only ones I can find cost like 1599 minus 100 mail in rebate which works out to like 1500.

I have never owned a mac, but my girlfriend has a macbook and I really like the operating system.

I want a screen this big because I want it to be my multimedia center where I can watch movies on and do all of my computing.

Anyone know where I can get one at the price I'm looking for?

Not for that price unfortunately. The 24" models sell second-hand for over $2K. You might pick up a damaged one for under $2K, but you'd be very lucky.

If the only reason you need an iMac is for the Display and not power. Why not get a refurb macbook http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?nplm=FB402LL/A and get a 24" or larger external display with your leftover cash.

but if you want the 24" iMac i am not sure you will find it much cheaper than that.

hmmmm 24" for that price...thats more of a 20" new still in box...actually 20" is more like 1500 + for 2.6 GHz....might wanna do a lot of searchin if ya want a 24" for a really great price. i had a 24" from best buy in mint condition it was an open box item got it for 1,467.00. best deal ive seen yet, check ure best buy and see if they have an open box.
