• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

OK, so I found out that I am having a problem with iDVD, not Toast. I recently created a dvd with video from my computer. The video was in the divx format, with an avi extension. The video played well in idvd before the burn and everything, so I burnt all three copies that I needed. Then, when I went to try them, there was a huge problem with the encoding or something. The video was extremely laggy. Like the video would jerk every few seconds. I don't understand why it is doing this now, the same procedure has worked a million times before.

Any help will be appreciated.

I'm about to go insane if I can't get this fixed. It's killing me that I can't create DVDs, thats one of my main jobs for my computer.

Rather than futz with Divx/AVI files which are NOT native to the Mac platform, convert the files to something that is native.

OK, just so everyone knows, the problem was with Perian. I had installed it right after burning the last dvd i made, so i forgot about it. Uninstalled it, and everything worked fine.

Hope this helps someone else!
