Where are the files?

I have a 4GB thumb-drive. When I plug it in, it says that I only have 1.21 GB available. When I plug the drive into a PC, and 'view hidden files', I can see 2 hidden folders. How can I see these on a Mac. This is a very frustrating experience especially with a thumb-drive.

Although there are a app, for doing this:

Try emptying trash when it is connected to your Mac. In OSX files will not be deleted from a USB stick when you drag them to the trash until you empty it (I'm presuming that this is what's happened in your situation but I may be wrong).
