• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Problems burning DVD's with Toast

I seem to be having issues burning DVD's with Toast 6.0.7. They seem to burn ok and complete without errors, however, they won't play in my player. I have been successfully burning DVD's with Toast for a long time now & I've always used the same brand media.

If I burn a disk from iDVD it works fine - so I know that the drive is working ok (?).

Any ideas?

Thanks!

If you can burn the DVDS with iMovie, then your drive is perfectly fine.. what you should do is check up on your type of burn with toast. ie. not a data disk, but a movie type disk....

I was having the same problem until I came across this solution. In Toast 6.0.7 use the Video Tab instead of the Data Tab. Go to Advanced and click the following button -- DVD-Video from VIDEO_TS
Drag in the files and burn. Good luck.
