hard drive usage huge

hi
had my new imac a few weeks its great but i seem to be using up an awful lot of my hard drive so far twenty two gigs have been used and ive realy done very little and ive checked the sizes of all directories and it just doesnt add up ... has anyone else experienced the same thing ... could i have a huge backup file somewhere causing it? i can only find aroung 15 gigs of space thats been used and that includes the os.

i have a few gigs missing(1-2gb), i think it is system files(ds.store).

do you have your files encripted?
I believe that if you do this, it makes a copy of your home folder...

yeah i have the same problem, have you found a solution?
