iMovies Cannont Export

When I try to export a short clip from imovies, it sometimes says "Movie file ____ cannont be found" when I just downloaded the files from my camcorder. It seems to be that the part of the clip that has a grey box in iMovies does not export. When I delete the part of the clip without the grey box, the exporting works.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
