I am a Windows guy, and I am transitioning to a Mac. I purchased a Powermac G4 that has been upgraded with a single 1.25ghz processor. It has 4 sticks of various PC100 sdram that adds up to 704mb ram. The PC100 in this mac appears to be the same as pc100 sdram for a Windows pc. Is this true or is this memory Mac specific? I apprciate all of the help I can get guys and gals!

memory is not mac specific, you just have to make sure its the right type for it though.

Only time I encountered issues with compatibility was with my long gone G3 500 Snow iMac.....it wanted specific memory and not any old stick worked in it......made it fun tryin to find a pair of 512s for it

Chad if you start getting kernel panic attacks, a message to restart in several languages, get the modules out as Apple RAM is low density and generally PC RAM is cheaper high density.

If it all works, particularly on intensive programs, well and good.
