Networking with pcs and macs

Easy enough, from the Mac, go to System Preferences, Sharing. Click on File Sharing, Options, SMB. Figure out the level of access, who gets access, etc. You do mean on the same sub-net, right? It gets a little more complicated if you are trying to access it from a remote connection.

Your Mac's Specs
17" MBP, 2.5ghz, 4 gig Ram, 250 hard drive, 512 nvidia
you will also need to set up a work group. mac doesnt require it but windows requires to be part of a workgroup. They work fine together.

does this mean i can use my windows printer thorough the network? ( i have a windows network already)

In the printer wizard there is a check box to "share this printer", your Mac will find it easily enough. You will need to go to your printer's web site and download the Mac drivers.
