Is there a photo editor program such as PhotoShop for mac that I don't have to take out a mortgage to own it?

yeah...check out the program gimp....its supposed to be almost like photoshop...but freeware....

or you could try photoshop elements...has a lot of the same tools, just not as advanced.

Pixelmator is another program:) I'm using GIMP and it's pretty good. I didn't find Photoshop Elements had the tools I needed and effects I wanted. Although I'm still learning GIMP:p

Yeah, Pixelmator looks good too. Gimp seems to have a fairly high learning curve.
