new folder

17" MBP, 2.5ghz, 4 gig Ram, 250 hard drive, 512 nvidia
I cannot create a new folder by right clicking. The option doesnt exist in the right click menu and in the finder menu bar the option is greyed out. Please help.

When in finder, right click in the bottom right most blank area and it'll pop up as the first in the list.

you can add a new folder button to the finder tool bar. very easy to do from the finder prefs.

at least it's this way in tiger - can't imagine they would have removed it from leopard.

Typically, this happens when you don't have permissions to modify the volume or folder you're looking at. (Or you're looking at a read-only volume like a CD-ROM)
