Hey all,

Ok i want to transfer 50Gig of music from my OSX10.5 macbook,
to my Fedora Core 7 PC. So.... Im thinking ill just plug an ethernet cable
into my macbook, then into the PC but im not sure how to do the transfer.
Because they are both UNIX based is there a command or something i can
use to transfer the files?

Cheers

Both being Unix based doesn't make any difference, however, the easiest way to transfer that much data is with an external HD. Provided none of your music files are larger than 4 Gb (not likely) you would be better off using an external HD formatted to FAT-32. Just attach the drive to your Mac, make the copy, then attach it to the Linux PC and transfer.

Otherwise you would have to setup file sharing, attach a cable from the Mac to the PC, and do the transfer. Setting up file sharing from Fedora Core should be straight forward. There's plenty of documentation available. BTW, the transfer would probably be by USB 2 cable, port to port.

Regards.
