As if there is any doubt that the 3g iPhone is coming soon. Some 3g settings have been found in the 2.0 firmware.
iphone-3g-screen-shot.jpg

The settings page was found in the latest beta release of 2.0 firmware. IF you don't know, 3g drains cell phone batteries very quickly. Don't worry in an effort to save some battery life Apple has included a setting to turn 3g off, and use normal slow edge instead.

So with your 3g iPhone you'll have a choice, murder your battery or surf at 1995 speeds.

Do you have any links or other information to substantiate this claim?

source or ban!!

I don't think that will be necessary, but when one makes such claims, it usually helps to cite a source (unless of course you were directly involved with the development of the product).

As good as 3G would be in the new iPhone what I am looking forward to really is it being available on the Verizon Network..... I know I know I am dreaming but it doesn't hurt to be optimistic does it?

Sure, you can be optimistic. You should also be prepared to wait another four years ;P

Yeah I know Kash... the Deal with AT&T is for 5 painful years.

You know I almost considered switching to AT&T for the iPhone2.0 but held back when I found that 3G coverage is pretty much non existent in NC... well except in Charlotte which is 2 hrs away from Asheville where I am currently. So its not worth it for me to switch right now.

Oooh well I guess I will wait 4 years for Verizon to get the iPhone IF they ever do!

I posted an article not too long ago that claimed AT&T may start selling iPhones at a discounted rate with 2 year contract agreement. I really hope this happens as I am now off contract and going month to month. I could simply cancel my account and then sign up again for the discounted iPhone. And maybe even make back the money I pay for it by selling my old one!

Something is going on over at Apple,If you check Apple.com they say iPhones are unavailable both 8 and 16. thats all it says...... that's kind of weird.

That's really odd with their website. They said June on the software update. iPhones off their website 3 weeks before? That seems crazy.

I am guessing they don't want customers getting a phone 1-2 weeks before the new one debuts and become angry.. Like the early adopters when the price cut happened last year. This way they don't have angry customers and/or have the customers return the old gen iPhones for new ones (if they just purchased them).
