When to buy the iMac that I want to buy?

well, the iMac was recently redesigned, so don't worry about that and about an update you should be good until January(ish)

Well the average user wouldn't notice a difference of .26, so it all depends if you need the bigger hard drive, more RAM, better video card.

But I would say that the 2.66 is more popular because of it being a better system and all.

Thanks Waterpolo820 for that info,

I just now read the 20" screen is not all that good. Do you think I should go with 24". I watch a lot of movies so a great screen (not necessarily bigger) is very much imp to me.

Any thoughts?

I'd have to agree and say your safe to update. And personally if i were buying a new iMac and had the cash i would go for the 24 inch screen

We have several of the new 20" here in the office and if I am honest, I have no idea what the people saying the viewing angle is crap are going on about!

Its fine for us - glossy screen is a sad feature of it, but apart from that the 20" is good. 24" is also very good, but sides the big screen/bigger specs, there are no other advantages over the 20". Both screens perform great for us.
