Remove Preview icon from dock

Is there anyway to make preview close the program when you close the file you are viewing.

Easiest way is when you've finished looking at the file in Preview, go to the Preview menu at the top of the screen and choose Quit Preview, rather than just clicking on the little red 'close' gadget at the top left of the Preview window itself.
