AT&T has announced that it is launching a new video service, for $15 a month for 10 channels, competing with Verison's VCAST, it is basically like t.v. air waves, instead of short video clip downloads, It is coming to new phones, but right now there are only two phones that can handle it,(one is $300 and the other $200) does this mean that the new iPhone will be able to aswell?

Or do we even need it? Thoughts?

All it would take to get TV onto the iPhone is a 3G chipset and the application to support the codec AT&T is using to transmit video. I don't see it being out of the realm of possibility, and would honestly be pretty cool having portable TV on a device like the iPhone with its large 3" screen :D

AT&T TV's service will use the exact same service Verizon has been using with Vcast.

it wont take a lot to make it work on the iphone or ipod touch. AT&T also has in the works a device similar to what T-Mobile was trying to sell which enables you to improve your in home cell coverage with some device you buy for $99. It has some weird name and I cant remember what its called
