Hi,
i have an old power book g4 that now has a red light on in the headphone socket. The result of which is that there is no sound produced from it's internal speakers.I have used the socket for external speakers but now seems to be jammed and the g4 thinks there are head phones in there due i suppose to a sensor being stuck ? any surgestions or answers much appreciated. Brad.

The headphone jack doubles as an optical audio jack (that's the red light you speak of). It sounds like it is physically damaged. As such, you'll need to replace the systemboard to correct this problem as the jack is surface-mounted to it.
