isquint does a good job with easy default settings.

Handbrake might do it too.

ffmpegX should do it.

isquint may. I have isquint, but no ASF files to check.

You can try Handbrake as well, though ffmpegX is your safest bet.

People, Handbrake does NOT convert files, it simply rips DVDs. For converting files, stick with iSquint, VisualHub, and ffmpegX

use media-convert. Its a web-based converter and can convert many different files to other file formats. it's worked great for me, and i'm pretty sure it will convert ASF to mp4 and just about any other format. you can also adjust fps and the movie resolution for the converted file.
