Cowboy Bebop

Any Bebop fans on here? I just finished watching the series for the first time and I'm still awed by it.

Anyway I've heard there is a movie out. How does it compare to the series and when in the timeline does it take place. I can't imagine much coming after the series ended, although I wouldn't mind being totally surprised.

I would say. It's a jazz noir anime about a group of bounty-hunters, aka cowboys, and the tangled web of their lives. It's really one of the better animes I've seen in recent years. I just caught the movie and I'm even more impressed. It was just like an episode, only supersized, which is exactly what I had hoped for. If you like Anime at all I definitely recommend this one.

Cowboy Bebop is my favorite anime. The soundtrack is just amazing. Who would think Jazz could accompany Anime and be great? I'm still awed by Cowboy Bebop, even when I think about it...I own all the sessions and the movie on DVD. I am glad i bought them.

The movie isn't on the time line of the series at all. It's very well done, and very long, nearly 2 hours or so.

Faye, spike, jet, ein, and ed are all in it. If that gives you an idea of how its outside the bebop timeline. Very well animated, and just a good story over all.

And ya, I've been a big bebop fan for a pretty long time.

I always recommend Neon Genesis: Evangelion as well, just a great anime, 26 eps and 2 movies, and all eps are related, unlike bebop which is just like watching a different plot each time. There's a much bigger underlying story in Eva, and the movies explain everything that happen in the end of the series in more detail.

It's one of the deepest animes I've ever watched, so it's not "light reading" so to speak.

The only anime series I have actually finished are Trigun and Lotus Wars.

I don't remember much from Lotus Wars, but I remembered it kicked arse.

Trigun is by far my favorite, soon I'll have the whole series ;)

Trigun and Bebop are pretty similiar, they seem to me like casual anime if that makes any sense. Besides a few real intense episodes, it's fairly tame. Should check out Evangelion, or Kenshin. But never go dubbed, subbed all the way. (Although bebop did a good dub)

The Bebop movie is very good, and fits pretty well with the storyline. It fits in around episode 23, if I remember correctly. In any case, it's while Edward is still with them.
