Desktop Icons

Is there a way to get the desktop icons to go left to right when arranging by name or by date?

I dont think so. Unless you drag them there manually. But when you try and arrange them they will just go back. But why would you want it on the right? You might be used to it on the right but Im sure you can just as easily get used to them being on the left. Sorry if this does not quite answer your question.
