Mac OS X does not have a registry. Fortunately, that deficiency is unique to Windows.

If you'd like to maintain and optimize your system, you can download the free tools Onyx or MainMenu. Both of which can clean the various caches and perform any routine maintenance that needs to be done from time to time.

You may want to check the Activity Monitor and see what kinds of things you have running.

It's probably a good idea to find out WHAT is causing the problem instead of blaming the (inexistent) registry.

As cwa pointed out, check your Activity Monitor (in Applications > Utilities) for memory and processor hogs.

Thank God registry issues are not an issue on Macs ... Macs don't have registries. However, if you want to help keep things a bit tidy, run the scripts on this post. I did and I noticed a difference in my MB's performance.

My ibook G4 is getting slow even though it has 21 GB.

Is that 2 gig, 1 gig or 256Mb?

Shouldn't the OP be reported for using the "R" word here? ;D
